The 2018 Prestigious Pedigreed Seed Auction will be heldon Thursday, March 15that 12 noonat theCourt of Honour and Seed Show Displayin booth 2730.This annual auction sale benefitting CHEO, originated in 1992 and has raised almost $147,000.00 to date. Proceeds of this year’s auction will be directed to the Neo- Natal ICU at CHEO. The Ottawa Valley Seed Growers Association and the Ottawa Valley Farm Show are proud to support his part of our community, and have been recognized on the hospital’s Donor Wall since 1995.
As in past years, the auction features 8-10 lots of pedigreed soybean, barley, and spring wheat seed donated bylocal seed establishments of Eastern Ontario. This year, the sale additionally offers a variety of carefully selected and donated items. One of the featured items is a framed painting by a local artist, sponsored by Secan. Another item is a priceless quilted wall hanging of a farm scene (as pictured), generously donated and sewn byFlair with Fabricsstore in Chesterville, ON, and custom quilted by3 Dog Quilting, in North Gower, ON. The first in the series of collectible John Deere 620 model tractors has been donated to the auction by Vintage Iron and Traditions of Eastern Ontario.
